The Steel City Stampede Was Founded out of Bethlehem PA in 2012 By Matt Santiago as a means to go out and have fun playing the sport he loved. As the name became more popular it started attracting tallent from all over the lehigh valley and surrounding areas. The Stampede entered into the MIFL (Major Indoor Football League) which is comprised of teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Deleware, and Virginia. it is played according to indoor, Arena League football rules. As the 2012 season started, we as a team knew we were destined for greatness, but were given little credit.​

 

As the season progressed we showed that we were the team to beat. One by one our opposition crumbled at our feet, as we won game after game. Our first defeat came at the hands of the Bucks County Broncos, a disheartening 2 point loss ,with seconds to go in the game.  We eventually lost a 2nd game, another heart breaking, last second loss to the Philly's.



We recuperated and came back to run the table in the playoffs, and beat the Bucks County Broncos to win our first MIFL Championship in the team's first year of existence! We finished our inaugural season with a record of 9-3

 

Then in 2014, after a 9-1 season, we repeated as Champions, winning our 2nd title in only 3 years.  It was a big victory over the Red City Outlaws in the Sun National Bank Center Arena- Trenton, NJ.
